Why I built Hykaro.
I'm a freelance Next.js dev. My clients regularly ask me « before we push to prod, can you audit the code? ». I built the tool I wanted to use to answer them.
For years I had two choices: invoice a pentest firm €5000-15000 for 3 weeks of work (excellent for ISO compliance or a banking client, way out of budget for 80% of web projects), or duct-tape open-source tools that spit out an unreadable JSON dump. No presentable report. No margin.
Snyk and Aikido are internal tools for in-house teams: per-dev subscription, dashboard that stays on your side, nothing to show the client. Hykaro is a vendor tool: the engagement is one-shot, the deliverable is tangible, the client pays once.
My clients are in Europe. So is my data. Scaleway Paris, no US sub-processor in the scan pipeline. Built solo: no pivot to please a VC, no roadmap flipping every six months.
